Liz Ryder specialises in explosive weapons and defensive armour — missiles, mine launchers, torpedo pylons, and hull reinforcement/armour plating. She's a second independent starting point alongside Felicity Farseer (the two don't require each other), and is the Engineer you need before Hera Tani and, further down the chain, Broo Tarquin become reachable.[1]

Liz Ryder has no prerequisite Engineer. Reputation grade 3–4 with her opens the referral to Hera Tani, who in turn leads to Broo Tarquin and Tiana Fortune — the latter relationship still needs direct verification.[2]
