Seeker Missile Rack
EDFM // Ships & Equipment / Modules
A lock-on missile hardpoint that tracks its target after launch, at the cost of a longer lock-on time than dumbfire weapons.
Seeker Missile Racks fire guided missiles that lock onto a target before launch and then actively track it, unlike the straight-line missiles fired by an ordinary Missile Rack.
Overview
Because Seeker Missiles actively home in on their target, they are more forgiving to aim than dumbfire weapons, but the lock-on process takes time and the missiles themselves can be defeated by an enemy Point Defence turret or a well-timed Electronic Countermeasure. Like other missile weapons, ammunition is limited rather than capacitor-drawn, so magazine capacity and reload discipline matter more than heat management.
