Mine Launchers eject explosive mines behind the firing ship rather than projecting damage forward like a conventional weapon.

Overview

Mines are typically used against a ship that is following closely — a pursuing interdictor, a pirate staying on a Commander's tail, or an opponent chasing through a scramble in combat. Because they rely on the target running into them rather than a direct hit, they're a situational tool rather than a Commander's primary weapon, and ammunition capacity is limited.
