Usage
Optional. Numbering major (==) section headings is a
per-page/per-editor choice, not a site-wide default — most headings should
keep using the automatic // prefix that
MediaWiki:Common.css already adds to every h2. Use this
template only on pages where explicit numbering genuinely helps navigation
(e.g. a long reference page with many top-level sections):
== {{Section number|01}}Star systems, navigation and exploration ==
Renders as "01 // Star systems, navigation and exploration",
with "01 //" in the orange technical accent and the rest of the heading in
the normal bright heading colour. Using this template on a heading
automatically suppresses the usual automatic "// " prefix on
that heading (so they don't double up) — see the :has() rule
in MediaWiki:Common.css.
