Meta-Alloys are an Industrial Materials commodity carried as ordinary cargo, not an Engineering material drawn from the Materials tab.[1] They form organically around alien Barnacle sites rather than being manufactured by any station, and the in-game commodity description notes they are lighter, stronger, and more thermally resistant than most conventional alloys.[1]

Why it matters for Engineering

Felicity Farseer requires 1 unit of Meta-Alloys to unlock her Engineering workshop at Farseer Inc in Deciat. Because it is a commodity rather than a Raw/Manufactured/Encoded material, it occupies one tonne of cargo space and must be physically carried to Farseer Inc — a single cargo rack is enough for this delivery.

Acquisition

Meta-Alloys are not sold at ordinary commodity markets in reliable, restocking quantities. Two general approaches are documented:

  • Barnacle sites. Meta-Alloys can be collected directly at Large Barnacle sites using a Collector Limpet Controller, which is the more consistent source since it does not depend on a station's market stock.[1]
  • Scattered market stock. A small number of stations occasionally list Meta-Alloys for sale, but availability and location shift over time and typical allocations are small (often only a handful of units per visit).[1]

Because only 1 unit is required to unlock Felicity Farseer, either method is normally sufficient for this specific purpose; do not plan around one specific station's stock as though it were permanent; check current market data before relying on the market route.

Field note

Some older community guides point to a single fixed station as a reliable Meta-Alloys source. Station stock lists change over time — use a current commodity search rather than an old fixed route.
