A Shield Booster is a utility module fitted to a ship's utility mounts. Each one fitted adds to the ship's overall shield strength and damage resistances, working alongside the Shield Generator rather than replacing it.

Overview

Multiple Shield Boosters can be fitted at once, with their bonuses stacking, though the practical benefit per additional booster diminishes as more are added. Because utility mounts are also shared with other utility modules such as Chaff Launchers and Heat Sink Launchers, how many slots a Commander dedicates to Shield Boosters is a build decision based on the ship's role.
