This template lets an editor set this page's own SEO title, meta description, and/or mark it as a placeholder that shouldn't be indexed yet, without writing any HTML or raw parser-function syntax.

Usage (all parameters optional, use only what you need):

{{SEO
 |title       = Custom search-result/browser-tab title
 |description = Custom meta description (aim for roughly 150-160 characters)
 |noindex     = yes
}}

Place it near the top of the article, above or below {{Article status}}.

If you're marking a page as a placeholder, {{Article status}} itself now also accepts a noindex=yes parameter directly, which is usually more convenient than adding a separate call just for that one thing.

When no / is given, EDFM generates a plain mechanical fallback automatically (page name + site name; "X reference for Elite Dangerous commanders...") -- set them explicitly only when a more specific, human-written title or description would genuinely help search results or social shares. Most pages don't need this template at all.
