Usage

Place at the top of any gameplay-facing article. Status must be text, not colour alone — see Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Verification Policy. Renders as a structured metadata module (2026-08-07 redesign): a badge/mode/ version headline row, then a details grid for the remaining fields. The left accent colour is derived automatically from the status value (cyan for confirmed/verified, orange for needs-attention, neutral for historical/ legacy) — see the colour rules in Template:EDFM style/styles.css — the text badge is always shown regardless, so nothing is colour-only.

{{Article status

 |mode=Live|Legacy|Both|Historical
 |version=

 |source_quality=
 |uncertainty=
 |legacy_differences= (optional)
 |recent_changes= (optional)
}}

|legacy_differences= and |recent_changes= (added 2026-08-07) are optional — omit them and nothing renders, same pattern as every other field here. Use legacy_differences when a fact on this article genuinely differs between Live and Legacy (routine, can apply at any status); reserve status=Legacy only itself for articles that are entirely about a Legacy-exclusive mechanic with no Live counterpart at all — see [[Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Verification Policy]] for the full distinction. status=Upcoming and status=Legacy only now populate their own maintenance categories (Category:Upcoming Content, [[:Category:Legacy-Only Content]]) — previously both fell through with no category at all.
