Guardian Gauss Cannons are fixed-mount weapons built from Guardian technology rather than conventional manufacturing. Firing requires a brief charge-up, releasing a single powerful kinetic-thermal shot rather than a sustained stream of fire.

Overview

Along with the Guardian Plasma Charger and Guardian Shard Cannon, the Gauss Cannon is part of the family of weapons reverse-engineered from Guardian ruins. It is widely regarded as one of the strongest available weapons against Thargoid hull, which is part of why it sees heavy use in anti-Thargoid (AX) combat builds. See Guardian and Guardian Tech for the broader Guardian technology background — this article covers the weapon itself, not Guardian lore or site archaeology.

Unlocking the base (non-Engineered) weapon for purchase requires collecting Guardian materials and unlocking it through a Guardian Technology Broker; this is separate from the Engineering coverage below, which applies blueprints to a Gauss Cannon you already own.
