Snapshot of where EDFM's technical foundation stands. Written by the deployment process on 2026-08-06 — update this as the project progresses rather than treating it as historical record.

What exists

  • Production MediaWiki 1.46.0-class install (see Special:Version for the exact running version), served over HTTPS at the origin.
  • Read access for anonymous visitors; editing/upload restricted to administrators while the project is in initial setup.
  • Initial namespace structure, categories, and editorial templates (this page's sibling pages and 57 templates).
  • Daily automated backups, a scheduled job-queue runner, and basic health monitoring.

What's deliberately NOT done yet

  • Not launched publicly — the site is marked noindex for search engines (see `/opt/edwiki/docs/launch-checklist.md`).
  • Cloudflare DNS/proxying and a real TLS certificate are now live (2026-08-07) — the site is publicly reachable through Cloudflare with a trusted Let's Encrypt certificate at the origin. See `/opt/edwiki/docs/architecture.md` and `/opt/edwiki/docs/cloudflare-configuration.md`. Still outstanding: switching Cloudflare's SSL mode to "Full (strict)", and the Cloudflare Access login wall (requested, then deprioritized by the operator — not configured).
  • No email/SMTP configured — password-reset email etc. is disabled until a real mail service is set up.
  • Public registration and anonymous editing are closed.
  • Most content pages are still structural/placeholder — as of 2026-08-07, the Engineering section (all 38 Engineers, plus blueprint/effect/module demo pages) has real, sourced content; most other topic hubs (Ships and Equipment, Odyssey, Powerplay, Colonisation, Operations, Lore and History, Field Procedures) remain thin stubs pending their own research passes, per Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Editorial Policy.
  • Structured data foundation exists (2026-08-07) — a small Scribunto/Lua + JSON-content-model system (Module:Engineers, Module:Data/Engineers) proves canonical-data reuse across an infobox, List of Engineers, and Engineer Capability Comparison; only Engineers are backed this way so far.
