Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Contributing

How to contribute to EDFM.

Current stage

EDFM is open to the public and actively under development. Anyone may create an account and contribute to the wiki.

Until Frontier OAuth/CAPI approval is complete, EDFM cannot automatically verify that a contributor owns an Elite Dangerous account. When Frontier verification becomes available, editing/upload permissions may be limited to verified accounts or additional trusted groups.

The site is still in an early stage, so many pages, templates, and systems are being expanded or refined as the project grows. Contributors are welcome to add information, improve existing pages, correct inaccuracies, and help develop the Field Manual.

What contribution looks like

• Editing: edits go through the normal wiki edit flow. Significant or gameplay-fact-bearing changes should carry {{Article status}} with status=Needs review until checked against Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Verification Policy.
• Screenshots: see Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Screenshot Policy before uploading anything.
• Sourcing: see the source quality guide for what counts as a good source.
• Tone: see Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Editorial Policy.
• Legal/privacy rules: see Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Terms of Use, Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Privacy Policy, Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Cookie Policy, and Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Image Use Policy.

Reporting problems

Use the article's talk page to flag inaccuracies, and tag the article with {{Unverified claim}} or {{Draft warning}} as appropriate rather than leaving unflagged uncertain content.
