The actionable checklist for gaining access to The Sarge — for location, capabilities, blueprints, and other reference details, see the Engineer article.
This Field Procedure covers only the steps to unlock The Sarge. For the Engineer's location, specialties, available blueprints, experimental effects, and reference details, see The Sarge.
Objective
Gain access to The Sarge's Engineer services at The Beach in Beta-3 Tucani.
Prerequisites
- Discovery: The Sarge is discovered through Juri Ishmaak.
- Invitation: Reach the Federal Navy rank of Midshipman or higher.
- Reach Grade 3 access and at least one-third progress toward Grade 4 with Juri Ishmaak.
- Reach Midshipman or higher in Federal Navy Rank.
- Obtain 50 units of Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis.
Required Materials, Equipment, and Access
Obtaining Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis is an Encoded material in the Shield Data family.
Current material data lists its normal acquisition sources as:
- scanning combat-oriented ships; and
- mission rewards.
It has a higher chance of appearing from appropriate ship scans in systems in a Boom state.
Because it is an Encoded material, it can also be obtained by trading other Encoded materials at an Encoded Material Trader.
Tip
If you already have a large stock of higher-value or unwanted Encoded data, using an Encoded Material Trader can be considerably faster than attempting to gather all 50 Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis directly from ship scans.
See Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis for acquisition methods and Material Traders for material-conversion mechanics.
Field note
You can collect the required data before travelling to Beta-3 Tucani. Unlike commodity-based Engineer unlocks, no cargo rack is required to transport it.
Field note
Current Engineer data notes that station services may not become available immediately after The Sarge is unlocked. If the workshop or other expected services do not appear after completing the unlock, logging out and back in may make them available.
Step-by-Step Procedure
- Reach Grade 3 access and at least one-third progress toward Grade 4 with Juri Ishmaak.
- Receive Juri's referral to The Sarge.
- Reach Midshipman or higher in Federal Navy Rank.
- Obtain 50 units of Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis.
- Travel to The Beach on Beta-3 Tucani 2 b a.
- Donate the 50 Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis to The Sarge.
- Enter the Engineer workshop and begin increasing your reputation with The Sarge.
