Field Procedures are practical, step-by-step instructions for completing specific tasks in Elite Dangerous. They are intended to be followed while carrying out a task, from meeting an Engineer's unlock requirements to completing an operational workflow.

Unlike reference articles, which explain mechanics, locations, equipment, requirements, and other factual information, Field Procedures focus on what to do and in what order.

How Field Procedures work

A Field Procedure is built around a specific objective with a recognizable completion point.

Depending on the task, a procedure may include:

• prerequisites that should be completed before starting;
• equipment, materials, commodities, or other preparation;
• an ordered sequence of actions;
• warnings and common mistakes;
• an expected result or completion check; and
• troubleshooting for common problems.

Field Procedures may link to reference articles for detailed background information rather than repeating material already documented elsewhere on EDFM.
