| EDFM is open to the public and actively under development. Anyone may create an account and contribute to the wiki.

| Contributors can optionally sign in with Frontier (see [[Special:UserLogin]]) to link a Frontier account to their EDFM account. Current Frontier sign-in is for login/linking only and does not request Companion API (<code>capi</code>) access or grant the '''Verified Commander''' badge by itself. Commander verification is planned as a separate optional flow described in [[Elite Dangerous Field Manual:Verified Commanders]]. This is not required to edit — ordinary account creation and editing do not depend on Frontier verification. Editing/upload permissions may be limited to verified accounts or additional trusted groups in the future.
