Kamitra Cigars are a Legal Drugs rare commodity produced exclusively by Hammel Terminal in the Kamitra system (not to be confused with Hera Tani's own system, Kuwemaki).[1] They are legal to carry almost everywhere; Inara's data lists a small number of government types (Prison Colony, Theocracy, Corporate, and Federal Democracy systems) where they are not.[1]

Why it matters for Engineering

Hera Tani requires 50 units of Kamitra Cigars to unlock her Engineering workshop at The Jet's Hole in Kuwemaki. As a commodity, each unit occupies one tonne of cargo space.

Acquisition

Like all rare commodities, Kamitra Cigars have a single fixed production source — Hammel Terminal in Kamitra — and follow rare-goods stocking rules rather than an ordinary market's supply:[1]

  • Only a small batch is available at any one time (allocation is typically a handful of units per visit, not the full 50).
  • Stock replenishes gradually while docked, roughly every several minutes, up to a per-visit cap.
  • Rares stop restocking once your hold already contains your maximum allocation, so buying, then waiting, then buying again is normally required to reach 50 units in one visit; splitting the purchase across repeat visits to Hammel Terminal also works.

Tip

Because Kamitra Cigars only originate from Hammel Terminal, plan the trip around that one station rather than searching general commodity markets — ordinary market searches will not turn up rare goods the way they do standard commodities.

Player-owned Fleet Carriers may also carry Kamitra Cigars if another Commander has stocked them for resale; carrier inventory and prices are player-controlled and can change.
