EDFM // Mining / Field Procedures
Clear blocked refinery bins and cargo problems so mining can continue without losing valuable fragments unnecessarily.
Use this procedure when the refinery stops accepting useful fragments, completed tonnes do not move into cargo, or collectors are working but mining progress has stalled.
Draft: This article is still a work in progress and may be incomplete. You can help improve it by adding or expanding its content.
Before you start
- Stop firing mining tools until the blockage is understood.
- Keep the ship in a safe position away from asteroid surfaces.
- Check whether the problem is refinery bins, cargo capacity, or the ignore list.
Procedure
Procedure
- Open the refinery and cargo information for the ship.
- Check whether the cargo hold has free space for a completed tonne.
- If cargo is full, make space before expecting the refinery to finish more tonnes.
- Review each refinery bin and identify unwanted partial resources.
- Vent or clear low-priority bins that are blocking the resources the run is keeping.
- If collectors keep refilling the same unwanted bins, use How to Ignore Unwanted Mining Commodities.
- Resume collection only after at least one useful refinery path is clear.
Completion check
The procedure is complete when the refinery can accept useful fragments again and completed tonnes can transfer into cargo.
Common problems
- Cargo is full: refinery bins cannot complete into cargo without space.
- Every bin contains a different partial resource: clear the lowest-priority bins and consider using a refinery with more bins for mixed mining.
- The same unwanted fragment keeps returning: ignore that commodity before continuing collection.
- A valuable partial bin is present: do not vent it unless the run plan has changed or it blocks something more important.
