The Sub-surface Displacement Missile is the hardpoint used for sub-surface mining. It extracts internal asteroid deposits after a prospector limpet has identified a suitable deposit.

Mining role
- Mining role
- Extracts sub-surface deposits after a prospector identifies a usable deposit.
- Used by
- —
- Notes
- The missile is held while tracking the deposit indicator, then released in the highlighted band.
In practice, the commander targets a scanned sub-surface deposit, fires the missile, holds it while the deposit indicator moves, and releases it during the highlighted extraction band. The released chunks still need to be collected and refined.
Fit notes
A displacement missile launcher is not enough by itself. A useful sub-surface setup also needs a prospector controller, collector support, a refinery, cargo space, and limpets.
