The Power Plant is a core internal module fitted to every ship. It generates the ship's total power output, which is then allocated to every other system through the Power Distributor and direct module draw.

Overview

If a ship's fitted modules draw more power than the Power Plant can supply, some modules will be automatically disabled until draw is brought back under the available capacity. Because of this, Power Plant capacity is a hard constraint on how heavily a ship can be outfitted, and Engineering it is often one of the first steps in preparing a build for a specific role.

Power Plant Engineering also affects heat generation, which interacts with a ship's overall thermal management.
