EDFM // Ships & Equipment / Modules
A utility module that instantly dumps a ship's heat into an ejected heatsink, used for emergency cooling or stealth.
The Heat Sink Launcher rapidly transfers a ship's internally stored heat into a physical heatsink, which is then ejected from the ship.
Overview
A Heat Sink Launcher has two common uses: emergency cooling when a ship is running dangerously hot (for example after sustained Power Plant use or laser fire), and stealth, since a ship running with very low heat is far harder for hostile sensors and missiles to detect and track. Each activation consumes one heatsink from a limited magazine, so it's a resource to spend deliberately rather than a passive cooling system.
