== Function ==

According to Frontier's August 2026 developer log, the Planetary Mineral Scanner identifies mineral patches while the Rhino is on a planetary surface. The scanner marks deposits both on the planetary surface and on sensors so the Rhino and its crew can set up for extraction.<ref name="frontier-august-dev-log" />

Frontier has not yet published enough released-game detail to document scanner range, interface controls, tuning, engineering, prices, or compatibility outside the Rhino.
