EDFM has directly encountered cases where a system was reported as offering Fleet Carrier Administration by external databases when the service was not actually available in-game -- see [[#Known Data Discrepancies|Known Data Discrepancies]] below.

Two dates are tracked separately for this exact reason:

* '''Source checked''' -- when EDFM last reviewed the external reference data for a system.
* '''In-game verified''' -- when an EDFM contributor actually moved a Fleet Carrier into the system and confirmed the result directly in Fleet Carrier Management.

A system can have the first without the second. Collapsing the two into a single "last checked" date would overstate how well-tested a system actually is, so this directory keeps them apart.
