Along with the [[Guardian Plasma Charger]] and [[Guardian Shard Cannon]], the Gauss Cannon is part of the family of weapons reverse-engineered from Guardian ruins. It is widely regarded as one of the strongest available weapons against Thargoid hull, which is part of why it sees heavy use in anti-Thargoid (AX) combat builds.
